Many Gardening Styles
We have to remember that gardening is an Opinion.
Each designer or garden owner may have a different opinion; one may prefer a very full looking garden and another wants a cleaner look.
It is said there are 8 main categories: Modern, Cottage, Classic, Eclectic, Formal, Tropical, Southwestern and Naturalistic.
We will focus on four different styles.
Classic & Modern Gardens
Classic Gardens are symmetrical and balanced design with a simple, repeating colour palette. Often, more classic plants such as roses, lavender, and boxwood are used. There may be hardscape elements of rock or brick to add structure.
Modern Design incorporates clean lines, use of space and absence of clutter. There may be a Focal Point or specimen. It is careful, organized, contemporary.
Cottage & Eclectic Styles
Cottage Style is bright and colourful with an abundance of flowers, shrubs and accents filling every available space. It is freeing, whimsical and informal.
Eclectic Designs might incorporate several garden styles into an abstract palette. There may be fun accessories, such as furniture, rugs and planters. A mixture of plant textures pulls the eye in to explore.
